This week a group of the Cook’s Team is attending product training. The group contains sales representatives, sales support and project management staff, marketing staff and purchasing staff. Training is highly important to the organization. We believe that it’s our responsibility to be on top of what is happening in the industry so that we can be better prepared with the most current product knowledge to assist our customers. We also believe that everyone in the organization should be training – that’s why there is such a diverse set of people in our group.

This current training session that we are attending is put together by our buying group and it is an exceptional event. The team started on Wednesday evening and will finish up on Saturday afternoon. This includes ten different training sessions covering over 20 different manufacturers. With the cancelation of NAFEM this year, many manufacturers didn’t have the traditional show venue to introduce new product lines to the industry so this is a great year for our team to get to see what many others haven’t heard about. Along with new product introductions, supply chain issues and lead times have also been hot topics that are affecting everyone in some way. Some of the manufacturers that our team has attended presentations from so far include Metro, Garland, Manitowoc, True, and Lakeside. There are many more for us to still see.

This training is offered twice a year and Cook’s always has a team of people attending. With this year’s group, many of the staff have attended this event in the past as there is always something new to learn from the vendors. It’s also a good way to stay connected as there are other foodservice professionals from all over the US in attendance. Wheather you see it mentioned on our website, in our catalog or in an email, Cook’s believes that well trained employees are better able to serve our customers and we make it a priority throughtout the organization to keep learning and bringing value to you.
