A griddle is a cooking device that consists of a broad flat surface, such as a metal plate, or brick slab, that can be heated using a variety of means, and is commonly used in residential and commercial kitchen settings. In residential kitchens a griddle is generally composed of cast or wrought iron, aluminum or carbon steel. Gas griddles do need a hook up for natural or LP gas, however most gas griddles are field convertible, so they can easily be converted over from Natural to LP with ease.
